When the IRP rejects an invoice, Moharbill shows the reason in plain words on the invoice and in E-invoice → Failed. The bill stays saved; fix the field and retry with the same number.

Errors and fixes

GSTINBuyer GSTIN is inactive or cancelled

Why: the party's registration is suspended or cancelled on the GST portal.

Fix: click Check GSTIN again on the party. If it is still inactive, ask the party, or bill them as B2C.

2150Duplicate IRN

Why: an IRN already exists for this document number and year.

Fix: click Fetch existing IRN to attach it. If it was made with wrong details, cancel it within 24 hours and use a new number.

HSNHSN code is too short or not valid

Why: above ₹5 crore turnover, B2B invoices need a 6-digit HSN.

Fix: pick the 6-digit HSN on the item; every future bill uses it.

TotalTotal value mismatch

Why: line totals and the invoice total differ by a few paise.

Fix: turn on round-off for the series and retry.

TimeoutIRP not responding

Why: the government portal is slow or down.

Fix: nothing to do: the bill stays queued and Moharbill keeps retrying in the background; the IRN appears on the bill when it comes back. Check the status page.
